ASABA—DELTA State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee, MIREMCO has reiterated its determination to establish workable synergies between miners and host communities so as to curtail the activities of miners in the state.
Speaking at Asaba during a meeting between members of the committee, miners and other stakeholders in the state, Chairman of the Committee, John Edijala lamented that most of the host communities were in court over a series of disagreements,
While assuring that the stakeholders would be brought together for out of court settlement to make mining beneficial to host communities, he said the committee was out to protect the interest of Deltans without encroaching on anybody’s job.
