A member of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT who engaged a gang of suspected militants reported to be behind the abduction of four British missionaries in Delta State, Friday succumbed to death from gunshot wounds he sustained during a gun battle with the hoodlums at Sapele.
The operative, Sergeant Agunbiade Adebayo was shot on the stomach and was receiving medical attention at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, Oghara where he had undergone surgery.
Adebayo was reported to have been recuperating after he was operated upon at about 3:00a.m last Thursday and was said to have received four pints of blood.
