I got the beating of my life, says highway robber overpowered by passengers

MAKURDI—A 30-year-old robbery suspect and father of five, Terngu Nave, was, weekend, disarmed and beaten by his victims during a robbery operation at Abua Mbagwen in Buruku Local Government area of Benue State.

The suspect, who was reportedly dressed in military camouflage, was paraded by the Benue State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Moses Yamu, said his gang members abandoned him to his fate when he was overpowered by the courageous occupants of the vehicle the gang members were robbing.

He confessed: “Our three-man gang had stormed the Gboko/Katsina-Ala major highway at about 2a.m., dressed in military camouflage and mounted road block to rob commuters.

“It is my first time; I was invited by my brother to join in the robbery. That fateful day, two of us were holding guns.
