El-Zakzaky’s followers petition UN, EU, ICC

KADUNA—The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, has petitioned the United Nations, European Union, the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, and the International Criminal Court, ICC, to prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to release their leader, Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, and his wife, who had been in detention for almost two years.

Chairman, Free Zakzaky Campaign Committee, Sheikh Abdulhamid Bello, told newsmen in Kaduna that the corpses of 347 IMN members, who were killed and buried in mass grave, should be exhumed and given proper Islamic burial.

According to Sheikh Bello, an independent and impartial panel should be constituted to investigate and unveil the truth about the Army massacre of Shiites members in Zaria in 2015.
