WARRI—SOME leaders and elders from the Niger Delta region have asked the Federal Government to utilise the three months ceasefire extension declared by the Niger Delta Avengers to prove it is committed to the development of the region.
The stakeholders spoke at a consultative meeting in Warri with some agitators, presided by Elder Timi Ogoriba, Chief Mike Loyibo and Chief Famous Danumughan which had in attendance Prof. Benjamin Okaba, Prof. Christopher Dimie and scores of representatives from the various Niger Delta states.
Expressing their belief in the leadership of Chief Edwin Clark, the leaders passed a vote of confidence in PANDEF, coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Paul Boroh, as well as the ministers of state for Agriculture and Petroleum, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri and Dr. Ibe Kachukwu, respectively.
