ABUJA—The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, yesterday, said there was urgent need for the different regions in Nigeria to come together and agree on how to fix the country.
Ekweremadu, who spoke at the opening session of 2017 Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, ICMC, in Abuja, insisted that Nigeria, as presently constituted, is not working well.
He faulted President Muhammadu Buhari for refusing to implement the 2014 National Conference Report, which he discribed as “most recent roadmap produced by every shade of opinion and group in the country.”
He said it was unfortunate that several months after the Senate requested President Buhari to transmit the Confab Report to the National Assembly for legislative actions, nothing has happened.
