LAGOS—NIGERIA Labour Congress, NLC, yesterday asked Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State to stop further mass sack and recall about 5000 workers sacked a few days ago or face civil unrest.
President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba, in a statement contended that the recent sack of about 5000 workers was illegal as it breached the provisions of the Labour Act, insisting that NLC would use all lawful means available to contest the wave of mass sack.
The statement read: “NLC strongly condemns the mass sacking of about five thousand local government workers by Kaduna State government. The purported sack violates the provisions of all known labour laws and industrial relations practice as well as processes.
