UGHELLI—All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, has asked the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, not to take credit for the release of N800 million for the payment of local council workers in the state, stressing that the money is part of the N28 biilion loan package offered to states by President Muhammadu Buhari who had also vowed to put a smile on the faces of workers during this Christmas season.
The party also accused the governor of pretending to feel the pains of local council workers, adding that the governor was only forced to pay up the salary backlog of council staff because of the forthcoming council elections in the state.
