The impression that Delta Central is the base of the opposition to successive Peoples Democratic Party, PDP administrations in the state is set to be tested in the forthcoming election given the determination of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his associates to change that narrative.
Associates of the governor in the area have in recent days been sensitizing communities in the seven local governments through aggressive campaigns. Last Tuesday, an estimated 1,000 former members of the All Progressives Congress, APC reportedly defected to the PDP at a campaign in Ughelli North, the base of the governor’s senior special assistant on political matters.
