Fisherman, 37, arraigned for allegedly sealing off filling station

Okitipupa (Ondo State) – A 37-year-old fisherman, Richard Bamgbose, who allegedly took laws into his hands and sealed off a filling station, was on Friday brought before an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State.

He is facing a breach of peace charge.

The accused was alleged to have committed the offence on Nov. 24, 2017 at 2.00 p.m when he and another man still at large barricaded Emok Petrol Station along Okitipupa-Igbokoda Road.

According to Police Prosecutor Ayodeji Omoyeigha, the action of the accused amounted to causing a breach of public peace.

“The accused and one other a large, unlawfully sealed off the petrol station belonging to the complainant, Hapiness Balogun, following a disagreement.

“The complainant said the closure resulted in a huge loss of money.”
