IGP orders arrests over detention of DTN Publisher, raid on offices

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the immediate arrest of one of the contenders to the ownership of Daily Times of Nigeria, Dr. Ikechukwu Obiora, over his role in the detention of the Publisher of the newspaper, Mr. Fidelis Anosike and seven management staff of the company.

Similarly, the IGP has ordered the probe of how the police led by a top-ranking police officer were used by Obiora to secure the services of a Magistrate court in Mpabe to secure illegal detention of Anosike in Kuje Prison for seven days when the same matter was already being handled by the Appeal Court.
