Japaul, Wapic Insurance lead gainers on Exchange

Gains in Japaul Oil and Maritime Services Plc and 23 other companies today lifted the equities capitalisation by N36 billion.

Breakdown of transactions in the market showed that Japaul Oil’s shares rose by 5.41 percent to close at N0.39 from N0.37.

Wapic Insurance Plc placed second, appreciating by 4.92 percent to close at N0.64 from N0.61. Total Nigeria Plc went up by 4.78 percent to close at N228.00 from N217.60, while Livestock Feeds Plc and Aiico Insurance Plc were up 4.55 percent to close at N1.15 from N1.10 and 4.29 percent to close at N0.73 from N0.70 respectively.

Consequently, the market capitalisation rose to N15.165 trillion from N15.129 trillion, representing 0.2 percent increase.

On the other hand, 17 equities depreciated in price led by Unic Diversified Holdings Plc, which fell by 6.67 percent to close at N0.28 from N0.30, followed by Courteville Business…
