FG records 1,005 vandalized points in one year

Despite reduction in militancy activities across the nation, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, disclosed that a total of 1,005 pipeline points were vandalized in the last one year.

The corporation in its monthly financial operation report for November, 2017, stated that, “A total of 1005 vandalized points have been recorded between November 2016 to November 2017.”

NNPC noted that products theft and vandalism have continued to destroy value and put the corporation at disadvantaged competitive position.

According to the report, “In November 2017, a total 90 pipeline points were vandalized, 41 pipeline points failed to be welded while 6 pipeline points were either ruptured or clamped.”
