Nekede Poly rector urges students, staff to improve legacies of founding fathers

OWERRI—STAFF and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, have been urged to “work relentlessly to improve the legacies of the institution’s founding fathers.”

The institution’s Rector, Dr. Mrs. Cele Ugochi Njoku, gave the charge Wednesday, while flagging off the Polytechnic’s 40th Anniversary and Founders Day celebration/carnival.

“Our founding fathers obviously had reasoned that this institution should not only raise self reliant graduates, but also employers of labour. We must therefore work relentlessly to improve on the legacies of the institution’s founding fathers,” Njoku said.

She reasoned that “this year’s celebration is very unique and important because it coincides with the 40th anniversary of the institution”.
