Taxify unveils emergency safety button for Nigerian driver-partners

Taxify, the world’s fastest growing ride-hailing app, has developed a new safety feature, the SOS button, with the goal of safeguarding its driver-partners against violent attacks and hijacks.

The SOS button, which is embedded in the Taxify driver app, triggers a distress call to the Lagos State Emergency Response Agency.

According to the company on Tuesday, drivers can now use the additional safety feature whenever they are in areas where they feel insecure or are placed in dangerous situations.

The Operations Manager at Taxify, Uche Okafor, said that the integration of the SOS button came on the back of Taxify’s plans to further utilise technology to keep drivers safe on the roads.
