Edo clerics oppose ceding of state land for cattle grazing

BENIN—CLERICS under the auspices of Word-Based Bishops and Apostles Peculiar Global Association Incorporated, based in Benin City, Edo State, have said that they were opposing the ceding of any land in the state to any person or groups for cattle grazing.

They explained that in no distant time, it would create untold hardship and oppression to communities in the state.

The ministers of God, in a communique weekend, in Benin City at the end of their meeting, appealed to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Benin Monarch, Omo N’Oba Ewuare II, to ensure that the ancestral land of  Edo people was protected.

The communique by Bishop Solomon Akhigbe,  Bishop  Osadolor Ochei, Rev. A. O. Ehigie and 10 others, tasked the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to take urgent steps to stop the incessant killings of innocent…
