Ukwa Diocese, Anglican Communinion crisis lingers

UMUAHIA-THERE is still no peace in the troubled Diocese of Ukwa [Anglican Communion] as members of the Christ Anglican Church, Akwete, headquarters of the diocese, have insisted that the embattled Bishop, Rt. Rev. Samuel Kelechi Eze must go.

The church members claimed that despite the directive from the Primate through a White Paper that the alleged second wife of the Bishop should not be seen around the diocese or have anything to do with the Bishop, she allegedly still remains with him in the Bishop’s Court.

But the last Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma-led Panel of Joint Council of Archbishops East of the Niger set up by the Primate to assess the implementation of the White Paper, exonerated Bishop Eze of the polygamy allegation, saying that it has investigated the matter and discovered that it was not true.
