Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, has said Almighty God preserved elder statesman, South-South Leader and foremost Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, for more than “the strategic role he played” in the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who promised Ijaw a better deal.


Otuaro spoke at Kiagbodo country home of Chief Clark, who hosted Mr J.T. Government-led Delta Ijaw Political Assembly, DIPA, to honour Okowa and Otuaro for their re-election and all PDP candidates in the just-concluded polls.

At the ceremony preceded by a thanksgiving service at same venue attended by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, Governor Okowa said Ijaw nation alone contributed more than 25 per cent of votes to his resounding victory at the 2019 gubernatorial polls.
