SINCE  the last polls, things have not been normal in Rivers State, where the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, suspended, March 10, the electoral process due to heavy violence that dogged the March 9 elections in particular, later decided to collate results and conclude the process, but shortly halted, Tuesday, by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The contentions are that a powerful Federal official used the Nigerian Army to violate electoral rules, including ballot snatching and intimidation of opponents, while another powerful official of the state government, recruited fake…
