ABUJA-THE United Nation’s Children Fund,has urged Nigeria to seize the current moment to vaccinate children or risk them to what it called “uncertain future and possibly dire health prospects.”
The children’s rights organization tasked the country to “reimagine” how it delivers routine immunization during COVID-19 pandemic.
This came as UNICEF and the World Health Organization,WHO,warned of an alarming decline in global vaccine coverage due to a COVID-19 pandemic which it note, “is disrupting the delivery and uptake of immunization services around the world.”
UNICEF’s Representative in Nigeria,Peter Hawkins, in a statement, Wednesday, raised alarm that the country was “facing a critical moment of choice,where children can either be protected from a host of preventable diseases or face an uncertain future and possibly dire health prospects.”
