The Zamfara Elders Support for Peace and Development group has appealed to Governor Dauda Lawal to prioritize delivering good governance in the state, rather than criticizing Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle.
According to Hon. Aliyu Mammani Kaura, the group’s spokesperson, Governor Lawal should focus on building unity, development, and political cohesion in Zamfara. They condemned actions that could cause tension and divert attention from the state’s progress in combating banditry.
The group criticized Governor Lawal’s recent outburst against Matawalle on national television, calling it “uncalled for.” They noted that Matawalle’s tenure was marked by transparency, peace, and security, benefiting the people of Zamfara.
