A former presidential aspirant, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
In a statement issued by his Director General, Eric Oluwole, Anakwenze extended his condolences to the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, and the elder statesman’s family.
He described Adebanjo as a committed, principled, and genuine advocate for a better Nigeria built on equity, fairness, and justice.
The statement reads: “Pa Adebanjo was a tireless advocate for a Nigeria rebuilt on equity, fairness, and justice—one that would be a shining example in Africa and a source of pride for the Black race worldwide.
“His exemplary sense of justice and inclusivity was evident in his support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, despite the presence of his own kinsman and political associate, the incumbent President Bola Tinubu, in the race.
