Following the expiration of the tenure in office of the immediate past National Working Committee of the Labour Party headed by Julius Abure, the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Labour Party has stepped in to steer the affairs of the Labour Party.

Labour Party’s BOT Chairman, S.O.Z. Ejiofor in a statement said the takeover was in line with the Party’s Constitution and a step to avoid any leadership vacuum.

He said the party’s BOT is already in consultation with major stakeholders in the party and would soon communicate the processes for the conduct of an all-inclusive and expansive National Convention.
