Following the death of seven secondary school students, coordinator of school competition and the driver from Kano State, who were involved in a ghastly motor accident along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the President’s wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, urged the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to commence investigation into the cause of the accident in order to forestall future occurrence.
This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to Nigerian Pilot Saturday by the media assistant to the wife of the President, Jamilu Yusuf.
Mrs. Buhari sent condoles to the government and the people of Kano over the tragedy, calling for urgent investigation to avert future occurrence.
She expressed shock over the tragedy, describing the incident as sad and monumental loss to the country.
The wife of the president also commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
She also described the death of Oba of Benin, Omo n’Oba Akpolokpolo Erediauwa and Walin Sokoto, Ambassador Hazmat Ahmad as a monumental loss to the nation.
Hajiya Buhari said the death of the two great men could not easily be forgotten in the history of this country due to their immense contribution in ensuring peace and unity.
The president’s wife urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of commitment and good legacies, which they left behind.
Mrs. Buhari expressed her condolence to the government and people of Edo and Sokoto States and prayed God to grant the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the loss.
