How would you describe your tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University over ten years ago?

That’s a very difficult question for me to answer. It is something I would rather allow somebody else to evaluate. Many of us have a distant idea of what leadership entails; we only see leaders and their roles. It is only when you get to that position that you know what it entails to be a leader, especially in a country like Nigeria. Leadership is very challenging, much more intriguing in the universities, where everybody thinks they have something to contribute and enough latitude to critique. But I would say it was a pleasant experience.
