The Ogun State Government says it is partnering the Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, towards the successful hosting of the third edition of its annual drums festival.
The state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, said this on Wednesday, during a press conference heralding this year’s edition of the festival.
It was addressed by the governor, his deputy, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, and the State Commissioner for Tourism, Muyiwa Oladipo.
Onanuga, who is the chairman of the planning committee, explained that this year’s edition would be bigger and better, as more countries had indicated interest in being part of the event holding between April 19 and 21.
She said 17 troupes from African countries, 60 other private troupes and 20 states had confirmed their attendance during the festival.
