66 political parties shun NMA’s town hall meeting – Punch Newspapers

The Nigeria Medical Association says all but two of the 68 registered political parties in Nigeria shunned its town hall meeting which held in Abuja on Wednesday.

The NMA President, Prof. Mike Ogirima, said this while delivering his speech at the town hall meeting which had the theme, ‘Health, Democracy and Governance: Putting Health atop the Political Agenda of Nigeria.’

Ogirima said only two political parties acknowledged the invitation the NMA sent out.

The NMA President said, “Our doors are open to all. In fact, we have invited all political parties here. The NMA is not sympathetic to any political party. All the registered political parties were invited to attend this event.

“Only one or two acknowledged the receipt of the invitation. I hope all their representatives are here so that they would take the messages of the Nigerian people back. Let…
