The police on Monday arraigned one Summayya Bukar, 48, in a Wuse Zone 6 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for alleged defamation, falsehood, criminal intimidation and bugging a cell phone.
The prosecutor, ASP Nathan Jinaliance, told the court that the defendant defamed and made injurious false statement against one Baba Yahanasu .
Jinaliance told the court that the accused committed the offence in February 2018, at Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja.
He added that the matter was reported to the police station by Yahanasu via a written petition dated March 26,2018.
He said Bukar further breached the privacy of Yahanasu by bugging her cell phone.
The prosecutor also said the accused further intimidated and assaulted the complainant, besides injuring her with a knife.
According to him, the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 392, 393 , 397 and 400 of the Penal Code.
