EFCC denies releasing list of former governors under investigation for alleged corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has denied reports of releasing a list of former governors under investigation for alleged corruption. 

 

On Saturday, May 4,  a purported list released by the commission of 58 former governors that embezzled N2 .187 trillion, made the rounds on social media. 

 

In a statement released on its social  media handles this afternoon, May 5, the anti-graft agency says the list is not from the commission and should be disregarded.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, feels obliged to dissociate itself from a phantom report circulating in sections of the media claiming it has released a full list of ex- governors being investigated for alleged corruption.
