Dancing group at the Eko Carnival
A total of 35 carnival groups on Saturday participated in the 2015 edition of Lagos State Carnival at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on the Island.
NAN reports that the carnival kicked off with the various groups in a procession led by the Eko Samba drummers.
The annual carnival which started in 2010 is aimed at celebrating the state’s cultural heritage and its economic growth.
Mr Adeogun Adeola, the Chief Organiser of carnival, has projected that Saturday’s carnival involving elaborate costumes amid pomp, would generate N1 billion for the state .
