Senator Shehu Sani has granted scholarship to children of a soldier, Corporal Musa Ibrahim that was killed in an ambush 2 years ago by Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Senator Sani, who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District, said he was moved by a facebook post by a friend of the late soldier about the neglected children who were driven out of school due to inability of the family to pay the school fees of the five children of the deceased soldier.

The Senator also promised to assist mother of the late soldier with funds to trade in order to enable her sustain the upkeep of the children that were abandoned by their mother.
While lamenting the neglect of the family of the soldier that died while fighting the insurgents, Sani wondered why the Federal Government has not provided succor for such family.
“I was moved because if it were a normal country, the government would have taken up the responsibility, but you can see this family is suffering,” he stated.
Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the visit, the Senator said the reason for giving scholarship to the late soldier’s children is to ensure that they are well educated and grow up to recognize that their father died for others to live as well as for the peace of the country.
In her response, mother of the late soldier, Hajiya Rukaya, thanked the Senator for coming to their aid and prayed that God Almighty should grant him the power to fulfill his promise.
