NFF to decide on Super Eagles’ coach today

The Nigeria Football federation (NFF) will meet today to deliberate on the choice of a coach for the Super Eagles.

The federation’s technical committee recently met to select a coach from among the candidates, who applied for the post vacated by Sunday Oliseh earlier in the year.

According to an anonymous member of the technical committee, today’s meeting is for the board to either ratify the selection or reject the candidate picked by the committee.

Some of the people being touted as candidates for the job are Frenchman Paul Le Guen and Goran Stefanovic from Serbia.

According to sources, the NFF is going ahead with its decision to appoint a foreign coach despite the objections by the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung because they are convinced that Nigeria needs an expatriate for the position now.

The Guardian reports that Salisu Yusuf, former Enyimba Coach, is currently occupying the position, but on an interim basis.

Yusuf, who led Nigeria to two friendly games’ victories recently, will work as an assistant to the foreign coach, who is expected to come with his own personal trainer.
