The Rector of Lagos State Polytechnic, Samuel Sogunro recently announced Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti and an alumnus of the Polytechnic, Olanrewaju Olakanlu as Ambassadors of the Polytechnic.
Sogunro made the declaration during a visit by the duo to his office on Thursday, March 24, 2016 to rejoice with him on his birthday celebration.
Before the visit, winners emerged in the first edition of the Screenplay writing competition organized by the department of Mass Communication, Lagos State Polytechnic and Creative Village Productions, USA, a media firm owned by Olakanlu.
The students were asked to write a 15-minute television documentary screenplay on the ‘Sounds of Lagos’. Eke Victor, who emerged the winner got the coveted prize of a 10-inch android tab, while the first runner up, Michael Orodare also got a 10-inch android tab and an opportunity to feature in Jaiye Kuti’s upcoming movie Oro Mi (a true life story).
