THE Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), on Saturday, disclosed that the Roving Team of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone C has seized Container with number MRSU 3040288 found to be carrying military hardwares on Aba- Port Harcourt Road.
Speaking to Sunday Tribune, the Customs spokesman, Joseph Attah explained that the Service was forced to release sketchy details of the military hardware earlier before a press briefing because pictures of the seizures were already being circulated online.
According to Attah, “When the container was opened on Friday for inspection, we were shocked to see that some of the pictures of the seizure were already online.
“So to avoid an embarrassing scenario where unscrupulous individuals will start posting online what is in or not in the seizure, I had to quickly ask for details of the seized item. A press briefing by the Controller, Federal Operations…
