TUC declares strike against Lagos govt, mobilises protest, Monday

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has expressed its readiness to shut down economic activities in Lagos State on Monday, 25 September, in protest to the State government’s ban on the operation of its affiliate union, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

 

TUC President Comrade Festus Osifo made this known to journalists in Abuja on Friday. He said all affiliate unions of TUC, including Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN), Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI), and others are expected to join the action.
