Wife of Governor of Kaduna State, Aisha Ummi Garba el-Rufai, has condemned the rate at which girls, especially minors, are being sexually molested and raped in our society.
Mrs. el-Rufai was particularly worried that majority of out of school children are girls and implored women to prioritise education for girls.
She affirmed this in Abuja at the Women & Girls Summit theme: ‘Empower Girls, During and after Conflict’ organised by National Centre for Women Development in collaboration with the Office of the Wife of the President in commemoration of International Day of the Girl.
Speaking at the Women and Girls Summit, Mrs. el-Rufai enjoined women to teach their daughters sex education to avoid rape and sexually molestation.
