‘SAD’, the single by slain 20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion has broken the global record for the most Spotify streams in a single day, according to reports from Billboard.

On June 19, 24 hours after the controversial rapper was shot and killed in Florida, his track “SAD!” amassed 10.4 million streams globally, according to SpotifyCharts.com. The song now dethrones Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” with the most streams in a day record.
According to SpotifyCharts.com, “SAD!” racked up 4,437,612 in the U.S. alone on June 19.
In May, Spotify removed XXXTentacion’s music along with R. Kelly’s music from its editorial and algorithmic playlists as part of their Hate Content & Hateful Conduct policy. The streaming platform has since reneged on the policy and reinstated “SAD!” on their popular RapCaviar playlist.
