We don’t want soldiers, unlawful arrests, we’re not at war, Ekiti Obas tell FG

TRADITIONAL rulers in Ekiti State have demanded for the absence of unlawful arrests and deployment of soldiers during the coming governorship election in the state.

They made the demand when they met with heads of security agencies in the state and the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the need for a free, fair and credible exercise on July 14.

The monarchs, under the aegis of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, had engaged the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Professor Abduganiyy Raji; the state Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security, commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state in the parley and made demands of the various agencies.
