If you need a dose of inspiration, Tori Kelly‘s story is recommended. Her story is an example of the triumph of human will and hard work.
5 years ago, In February 2010, 22-year-old American singer-songwriter Tori Kelly‘s wish was ‘to go to the Grammys one day and walk the red carpet’. She tweeted:

Fast forward to 2015, she got a Grammy nomination and she tweets about her being speechless and heart being ‘heavy’.

Over the period of 5 years, Tori Kelly kept working hard on her craft, taking a step at a time towards her goal.
She’s been a competitor on Star Search, America’s Most Talented Kids, and American Idol. In 2012 after elimination from American Idol, she independently released her first EP that she produced, wrote, and mixed herself, titled Handmade Songs By Tori Kelly.
The following year, Scooter Braun became her manager after seeing her videos on
YouTube and introduced her to Capitol Records, with whom she signed in September. Kelly’s second EP Foreword came out in October 2013 as her first major label release. On June 23, 2015, Kelly’s debut album, Unbreakable Smile, was released.
‘I learned how to talk to people as myself. Watching back all those different shows that I did, it’s really easy to put up a wall and be like, I’m in artist mode now. Those shows really taught me that it comes off way better when you just walk in as yourself’, she told BuzzFeed.
With 2 EPs and 1 album, Tori got nominated in the ‘Best New Artiste’ category and she’ll be hoping to smile home with the award in 2016.
