The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Nigeria took swift action on April 27, 2024, sealing 50 outlets in Kaduna due to concerns over selling unhygienic edible oils.

The move, as announced on NAFDAC’s X official account, aimed to mitigate potential health hazards linked to contamination.

Mr Josephine Dayilim, the director of the North-West zonal office, underscored the peril of consuming oil processed in unsanitary conditions during a sensitization workshop for dealers.
