Stakeholders Conference On New Media, Citizens & Governance Holds In Abuja — Leadership Newspaper

A 2day conference on New Media, Citizens and Governance organised by Enough Is Enough Nigeria, BudgIT and Paradigm Initiative will begin today October 24-25 in Abuja, at the NAF Conference Centre.

The conference holding four months from Nigeria’s 2019 Elections, is expected to provide a vibrant platform to dissect issues likely to impact on the elections and citizens’ engagement on the digital space.

There would be sessions or panels on “Government, Civic Spaces and the Role of New Media” and special focus would be on the elections itself and preparation for it. Conversation would not however be limited to elections or Nigeria.

A press statement from Paradigm Initiative’s Human Resource Officer, Sodiq Alabi said the forum will take a look at other issues including but not limited to the war on the new media, accountability of public officials, understanding the constitution, and using media as a sex education tool.
