Magu seeks Partnership against Corruption

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has assured Non-Governmental Organisation, NGOs and Civil Society Organisations, CSO, of the Commission’s partnership in the fight against economic and financial crimes.

Magu made the pledge on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 when he hosted some executives of a Non Governmental Organisation, Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.

The EFCC chairman who was represented by the Ilorin Zonal Head of the EFCC, Isyaku Sharu said, "Section 3, 7 and 8 of the EFCC Establishment Act empowers the Commission to partner with Government and Non Governmental Organisations, without partnering with these agencies, the anti graft body cannot succeed in its ongoing fight against corruption, we are reiterating our commitment in partnering with every organisations that want to partner with us".

According to him, "The essence of incarceration is not just to punish people completely but to change their lives, that is why we have sanitised the system for good"

Earlier, the President of Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative, Ambassador Rasaq Jeje who commended the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Commission however called for partnership.

"We are here to partner with you in the ongoing fight against corruption, we are also commending your good works in the ongoing fight against corruption, since you came here, the activities of the internet fraudsters are becoming a thing of the past, we urge you to continue with what you are doing".
