A University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) graduate was recently denied being called to bar by the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for refuseing to remove her ‘hijab’ and this has generated some controversy among Nigerians.
Speaking on the issues Chief Femi Fani-kayode said that the lady was ‘being childish and disingenious’ saying that ‘U cannot insist on wearing religious garb during a secular ceremony and she is not the first Muslim to be called to the Nigerian bar. Nigeria is a secular state!’
